History of the Long Island Chapter S.A.R.

The Long Island Chapter of the S.A.R was originally founded as the Huntington Chapter S.A.R on February 5, 1909.  Click here to see the names of the founding members. It was changed in April 2005 because:
•    It is more representative of our compatriots that live throughout Long Island;
•    The awards we provide to Eagle Scouts, high schools, ROTC, etc., are representative of all Sons of the American Revolution (S.A.R.) members on Long Island;
•    It helps us forge relationships with the D.A.R. and C.A.R. chapters on Long Island that will increase visibility of our chapter as well as provide another venue for attracting new members.
